‘Alien: Covenant’ Is a Messy Broken Promise [Halloweenies Podcast]

After surviving the Engineers on LV-223, the Halloweenies make their way to Origae-6 for a new life in a new frontier. Along the way, they receive a strange distress signal from the year 2017. What they uncover is Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant.

Together, the gang discuss the lost sequels that would back up into 1979’s Alien, Michael Fassbender‘s fantastic dual roles as David & Walter, the design of the Neomorphs for better or worse, deleted scenes, the tough-looking finale, and whether they wanted this arc to continue.

Stream the episode below or subscribe via Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, RadioPublic, Acast, Google Podcasts, and RSS. New to the Halloweenies? Catch up with the gang by revisiting their essential episodes on past franchises such as Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Scream, The Evil Dead, and Chucky. This year? Alien.

You can also become a member of their Patreon, The Rewind, for even more hilariously irreverent commentaries (e.g. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Darkman) and one-off deep dives on your favorite rentals (e.g. Poltergeist, Manhunter, Phantasm). Each month promises something new and unexpected from the wildest corners of the genre.
