SDCC Display Leaks Potential ‘Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver’ Remaster?

With San Diego Comic-Con kicking off yesterday, we’ve already gotten plenty of sneak peeks at what’s to come. And for fans of the Soul Reaver series, we may be getting a remaster on the way.

Spotted by an attendee who posted their findings on ResetEra, a Dark Horse Comics Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver statue on display at SDCC appeared to have branding for an unannounced remaster of the two Soul Reaver games. This display also included a QR code, which takes over to a mailing list sign-up for Dark Horse Comics.

This is in conjunction with a recent announcement that the Soul Reaver series would be getting a comic book entitled “Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise”.

Fans have obviously been waiting to see just what was going to happen after Crystal Dynamics posted a survey a few years ago asking what fans wanted to see from the series, which has been dormant since 2003 (well, 2013 if you count Psyonix’s free-to-play multiplayer spin-off game, Nosgoth).

The results of that survey, which had an overwhelming response, were never shared by Crystal Dynamics. But now it appears that we might find out soon, despite Crystal Dynamics probably never intending for the news to get leaked like this. Keep in mind that the developer hasn’t announced anything as of yet, nor have they responded to this leak, so keep your expectations in check.
