SDCC: Funko Fusion

Funko’s VP of Licensing and Business Development, Jason Bishoff, and 10:10 Games co-founder and Head of Publishing, Arthur Parsons were at Comic-Con to discuss and promote the upcoming Funko Fusion game. Loaded with horror references such as The Thing, Jaws, Shaun of the Dead, Nope, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Chucky, and more, this action-adventure game from 10:10 Games is a Pop! version of characters fighting to build a team with unique abilities.

When asked how these franchises were selected, Bishoff said “it started fundamentally as a question of in partnership with NBCUniversal what’s immediately available in the catalog, and what are those things we would have to have a conversation around” and also “what are the things from a Funko perspective that either have been longtime asks or just how fans have been engaging with us through the years things they have naturally called out or loved” and more generally “choosing cool stuff, making sure it’s a broad range of stuff, getting a little bit of horror, a little bit of action adventure, right, little bit of whacky.” Parsons added that “we believed there were no games in the market that celebrated fandoms and allowed people to celebrate fandoms together” regarding that fans all love different things and this is a game that allows people to play in franchise they are a fan of with their friends.

It was announced today that Clancy Brown will be voicing the villain character Eddy and previously announced fan-favorite voice actor Kellen Goff is reprising his role as Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Funko Fusion launches on September 13, 2024.
