‘The Shining’ Actress, Shelley Duvall Dies At Age 75

We have extremely sad news to post today as we have learned that Shelley Duvall has passed away at the age of 75.

The actress passed away at her home in Blanco, Texas due to complications from diabetes, according to a report on The Hollywood Reporter.

“My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us,” Gilroy said in a statement to the magazine. “Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley.”

Horror fans will never forget her in her co-starring role opposite Jack Nicholson in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. The film is considered one of the greatest horror movies of all time and in 2018, the Library of Congress selected Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror film The Shining for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. The film was chosen because it is considered “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” to the nation’s film heritage.
