VR Survival Horror Title ‘Hello Cruel World’ Launches August 1 [Trailer]

Indie horror developer/publisher Akupara Games has announced an August 1 release date for their VR survival horror title, Hello Cruel World. Revealed during DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase 2023, will head to Meta Quest 2 and SteamVR, has you scouring a long-abandoned trashy seafood restaurant a thousand miles from the sea, hoping to gain influencer immortality by uncovering its secrets. Obviously, you find more than you bargained for in the depths of the restaurant.

Hello Cruel World casts you as an urban explorer goaded by your livestream chat to check out the Crab ‘n Grab, the aforementioned seafood restaurant that not only is teeming with technological decay (aka eye candy for your viewing audience), but as you soon find out, has a decrepit laboratory underneath its remains. The opportunity for views and fame are too good to pass up. Unfortunately, there’s something else in the bowels of the lab that will have you fighting to stay alive.

As one might expect, Hello Cruel World has you solving environmental puzzles, putting your ingenuity to the test. You’ll need to think fast, think on your feet, and think outside the box. All the while, you’ve got your chat by your side to urge you on, but how far are you willing to go to sate their curiosity, and the thrill that spurs you on?
