Alexandre Aja to Return for ‘Crawl 2’

Get ready for more gators.

Paramount is moving forward on a sequel to Crawl and plans are for it to start shooting this fall in Europe. Andrew Deutschman and Jason Pagan, known for penning Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and Project Almanac, are writing the script, according to a report on Deadline.

The big news is that Alexandre Aja is set to return to the directors chair as Crawl 2 is said to feature a new cast and a new location which just might be New York City.

Released on July 12, 2019, Crawl was directed by Alexandre Aja and starred Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper. The film earned $91 million against a budget of $15 million.

The official synopsis of the film read “When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father. Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.”
