Hayden Panettiere Joins ‘A Breed Apart’

The saying “There’s no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner,” will be put to the test in A Breed Apart.

The film, which is said to be a reimagining of the Wes Craven-produced The Breed from 2017 has added Hayden Panettiere, according to a report on Deadline.

Panettiere joins the previously announced Joey Bragg, Troy Gentile, Riele Downs, Page Kennedy, Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey.

The plot will see a pack of dogs escape during the making of a fictional The Breed 2 movie during filming on a remote island. Years later, a group of YouTubers are drawn to the island to try and find the canines in a project they hope goes viral and which is the brainchild of influencer Vince Venture, who is played by Bragg. The reality is that they face a fight for survival and each of the influencers must use their unique skills to stay alive.

Brothers Griff and Nathan Furst are directing and producing the movie under their Curmudgeon Films banner. Daro Film Distribution is co-producing and financing. The film is set for a 2025 release.

Released on January 5, 2007, The Breed was produced by Wes Craven and directed by Nicholas Mastandrea. It starred Michelle Rodrigues, Oliver Hudson, Taryn Manning, Eric Lively and Hill Harper.
