‘1 Million Followers’ Explores the Dark Side of Being an Influencer This October [Trailer]

Director Harvey Lowry is hoping you’ll follow his upcoming influencer horror movie 1 Million Followers, and Vertical has provided Bloody Disgusting with the trailer this week.

Vertical will release 1 Million Followers in select theaters and on VOD October 25.

In the film, “Karissa, an 18-year-old from a small farm in Idaho, gets invited to Thailand by mega influencer Jack Mayer, for a chance at a lucrative sponsorship. She quickly befriends other influencers and enters a competition to win a $500,000 sponsorship from Vrap Vodka.

“Emboldened by the chance to save her family farm, Karissa pushes herself to get more followers by posting more daring photos. But her success is threatened when she and the others are kidnapped as part of a larger conspiracy they never saw coming.”

Shelley Q, Evan Williams, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Jade Ma, Constanza Palavecino, Patrick Atchison, Skye Ladell, and Henry Ian Cusick star in 1 Million Followers.

Paul Kim wrote the screenplay.
