That certainly didn’t take long. Much like what happened with Dead Island 2 upon its release, GSC Game World is reaping the rewards of a long wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, announcing that the open world FPS has sold over one million units since its launch on November 20 on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG and the Xbox Series. The game has also enjoyed “much [sic] more stalkers” on Xbox Game Pass.
And in a nice touch, even the official Dying Light 2 X account showed love to the team at GSC Game World.
The one million sold also comes despite Heart of Chornobyl shipping with several bugs, which the dev team is currently working to iron out. Then again, it should be par for the course for fans of the series, given the previous games in the series experienced issues at launch with bugs.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl puts you in the boots of Skif – a lone stalker, who enters the Zone after a series of unforeseen events. On the way to the Heart of Chornobyl, you will gradually uncover the secrets of this world, explore the balance of power between factions, fight, and survive. Every choice you make in the game will impact the outcome of this global and epic tale.
No wonder it feels a bit crowdy in the Zone. A million copies were sold, and much more stalkers joined the artifact hunt with Game Pass.
This is just the start of our unforgettable adventure. The Heart of Chornobyl emanates stronger with each of us.
Thank You, stalkers! pic.twitter.com/zslF7I8vR1
