Horror Anime “Tokyo Ghoul” Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Blu-ray Box Set

“Tokyo Ghoul” is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a Blu-ray box set on December 17 from Crunchyroll.

The eight-disc collection includes all three seasons of the horror anime — “Tokyo Ghoul,” “Tokyo Ghoul √A,” and “Tokyo Ghoul:re” — based on the manga created by Sui Ishida.

Produced by Pierrot (“Naruto,” “Bleach”), the series aired in its native Japan between 2014 and 2018. It made its US debut in 2017 as part of Adult Swim’s Toonami.

The original Japanese audio is included with English subtitles along with the English dub.

Over three hours of Special Features are included:

  • Episode Commentary
  • Textless Opening & Ending Songs
  • Kaneki in Black and White Featurette
  • Tokyo Ghoul:re – Cast and Crew Answer Your Tweets
  • Tokyo Ghoul: Jack OVA
  • Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto OVA
  • Commercials & Promo Videos
  • Trailers

In the show, “Ken Kaneki is a loner. In a world where ghouls—human-like creatures who survive on human flesh—and people are at war, his biggest concern is which novel to pick up next. But when a date with the mysterious Rize turns deadly, a life-saving operation horrifyingly transforms him into a human-ghoul hybrid. Can he find his place in a society where it’s hunt or be hunted?”
