Ask and you shall receive, according to Headware Games. The developer has dropped a new update for its survival horror short story, Hollowbody, to include a much requested feature for fans – a Third Person Mode. We even get a new trailer showcasing the new feature, which is including alongside a bunch of optimisations, improvements and balances in Patch 9 for Hollowbody.
Players can now switch between ‘Classic’ fixed camera mode and the new ‘Modern’ third person iteration from the in-game Options menu.
“Along with this new camera system I have put a lot of time into optimising aspects of the game that I felt were lacking alongside some improvements and balancing to combat and enemies,” says Nath of Headware Games. “I have also made some significant changes to how the game handles loading of data, fixing issues with black screens during loading of save files and new areas.”
Those optimizations include (among others) rumble support for controllers, camera transitions and a zoom when aiming for Third Person Mode, as well as improving camera transitions for First Person Mode and enemy AI.
There is a caveat with the update, however. While Nath has tried to avoid breaking any previous save data when updating to Patch 9, due to the nature of the improvements in this update, players may encounter issues from loading old save files. As a result, it’s recommended that players start a New Game save file where possible.
