Michael B. Jordan & Ryan Coogler Break Down the ‘Sinners’ Trailer

On the heels of yesterday’s Sinners trailer drop, writer-director Ryan Coogler (Creed, Black Panther) and star Michael B. Jordan broke down the preview for Entertainment Weekly.

Watch below as they share behind-the-story insights, hidden details you might have missed, and how they brought the new vision of fear to life.

“Playing twins was definitely a challenge,” Jordan says of his dual role as Smoke and Stack. “It was part of the reason why I wanted to take the role. Ryan really built two characters that were very much so different but were kind of the same as well.”

Sinners opens in theaters on April 18 via Warner Bros.

Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee), Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake), Wunmi Mosaku (“Loki”), Jayme Lawson (The Batman), Omar Benson Miller (“CSI: Miami”), and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods) round out the cast.

Coogler’s behind-the-camera team include his Black Panther franchise collaborators: director of photography Autumn Durald Arkapaw, production designer Hannah Beachler, editor Michael P. Shawver, composer Ludwig Göransson, and costume designer Ruth E. Carter.
