Steelkrill Studio Returns to Anomaly Horror With ‘The 18th Attic’ [Trailer]

Steelkrill Studio is keeping busy in 2025. After releasing Shift 87 and Baby Blues Nightmares last year, they’re back at it with another unorthodox premise for a horror game with The 18th Attic. Currently in development on Steam, The 18th Attic shares the anomaly hunting aspect of Shift 87, where you step into the role of a man trapped in a mysterious loop in an attic, and the only way to break free is by hunting down the paranormal anomalies lurking in the shadows.

Armed with just an instant picture camera, a lighter and Biscuit, your cat companion, players must explore the attic and capture these paranormal anomalies in photos. You’ll need to use your lighter to illuminate the darker corners of the attic, as some anomalies may be hiding.

Each photo you take will unlock memories that reveal pieces of the your own past. However, even these photos will try to trick you, and some anomalies won’t be as as friendly as others. Also, you’ll need to be wary of not running out of photo cartridges. Do so, and you’ll be defenceless.
