After the tease last year that MegaPixel Studio and developer Forever Entertainment would hopefully be getting down to announcing The House of the Dead 2: Remake, it’s finally happened. The remake of the 1998 cult classic shooter will arrive later this Spring for will launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG.
For those who don’t know, The House of the Dead 2 picks up after the events of the first game. In February 2000, the city of Venice has suddenly become overrun by hostile creatures. AMS agents James Taylor and Gary Stewart have been dispatched to investigate. Upon their arrival, they soon realize that the situation resembles what happened at the Curien Mansion from two years prior. Determined to uncover the source of the infestation, the duo must shoot their way out.
As you might expect, The House of the Dead 2: Remake will sport revamped graphics, as well as a remastered score (which you can toggle to go back to the original soundtrack, if you wish). The game will include the same co-op play, branching paths and multiple endings of the original game. The remake will also include a Boss Rush Mode, where you must defeat the game’s bosses as fast as you can, as well as a Training Mode, allowing you to hone your skills in different training scenarios.
