Indie developer Rose Lane Games has announced that their first chapter-based horror title, Helios Hotel: The Night Shift, will be launching on February 14 on PC via Steam, with a 15% discount for the first week of launch. A demo is also available for those looking into get into this first-person choose-your-own-adventure style title inspired by paranormal and slasher films such as The Shining, Halloween and Friday the 13th.
Helios Hotel: The Night Shift is broken down into bite-sized chapters, where players take on the role of Rose, who has just moved to a small town, and quickly lands a job as the front desk receptionist for a fancy new hotel. Much like what players had to do working as a cook in Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, you’ll initially have to undertake the everyday tasks of the front desk clerk, such as booking in guests and ensuring they get everything they need. But after a number of strange occurrences, things soon evolve with a distinct feeling that something isn’t quite right…
Things are made even more strange with the oddball cast of guests and employees, which through conversations and dialogue, aim to leave you unsure of what their motivations really are in this situation. Not to mention that your choices affect these conversations and what you’ll experience, ultimately leading you to one of four endings.
