Bloober Team’s ‘Silent Hill 2’ Remake Has Sold Over 2 Million Copies Since Launch [Trailer]

The long wait for Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 has paid off for Konami. The publisher has announced that the critically acclaimed remake of the 2001 psychological horror classic has sold a combined 2 million physical and digital units across PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 since its release last October.

And speaking of critical acclaim, Konami has released a new trailer showcasing the various accolades Silent Hill 2 has received.

As for what’s next remains to be seen. We never did get the “Born From a Wish” bonus episode with the remake that was in the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the original, leading fans to wonder if that’s coming in the future. Neither Konami or Bloober Team have said anything about DLC for Silent Hill 2. Plus, Bloober Team is busy at the moment with their new sci-fi Survival Horror title Cronos: The New Dawn. However, you never know with how these things go.

After all, the game will more than likely be headed to the Xbox Series once Sony’s exclusivity deal is up, so DLC might be included as an update once Silent Hill 2 arrives on Microsoft’s console.

In Aaron’s review of Silent Hill 2, he states that the remake “impresses on all levels,” with Bloober Team having “[mixed] modern gameplay concepts with the elements that made the original a masterpiece in the first place.”
