Choices Matter in Horror Visual Novel ‘Unfriendly Friend’; Demo Now Available

So you’ve conquered Slay The Princess, and you’re hungry for another visual novel to devour. Lucky for you, solo developer/publisher betetiro has just released the demo for their upcoming adventure horror title Unfriendly Friend, just ahead of next week’s Steam Next Fest.

In the game, you play as Dakota, a high school student, who together with her friends decided to explore the long-abandoned St. Mercy Hospital for fun. And right on cue, things get weird in a hurry. Now Dakota and her friends have to escape, but depending on your choices, not everyone will be so lucky.

Unfriendly Friend will have you using an RPG style item system, wherein items you collect will allow you to solve puzzles you come across that will unlock more of the game’s story. Along the way, you’ll also uncover secrets that delve into the hidden truth about the hospital.

And because this is a visual novel, betetiro has made it a focus immersion with the story. And there are stories everywhere in Unfriendly Friend. In the journals you find, written on the walls and more. You’ll also come across a variety of characters, each of which have their own stories and motives. And as mentioned before, what you choose to reveal, and how you act, can affect the outcome.
