Malcolm McDowell Serial Killer Film ‘Evilenko’ Heads to 4K UHD from Unearthed Films

Based on the crimes of Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, Evilenko hits 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on February 25 from Unearthed Films.

Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Rob Zombie’s Halloween) stars as Andrei Evilenko, a notorious serial killer who mutilated and devoured more than 50 children.

For years, Evilenko eluded the obsessive Detective Lesiev and the psychiatric profiler Aron Richter (Ronald Pickup). Spurred on by his rabid fury at the gradual crumbling of his precious Soviet Union, Evilenko is a man who will live, die and kill as a communist.

The 2003 film has been newly restored in 4K from the original camera negative with HDR.

Special Features:

  • Interviews with writer-director David Grieco, actor Malcolm McDowell, and composer Angelo Badalamenti
  • Evilenko Dossier: Andrei Chikatilo – A look at the real-life basis for the film
  • David Grieco and Malcolm McDowell on Evilenko
  • Photo Gallery
  • Trailer

Marton Csokas, Ronald Pickup, Frances Barber, John Benfield, and Vernon Dobtcheff round out the cast.

David Grieco writes and directs. Angelo Badalamenti (“Twin Peaks,” A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors) composed the score.
