The New Poster for ‘The Monkey’ Is “Pretty F*cking Funny”

The new poster for The Monkey promises that the Stephen King adaptation is “pretty fucking funny.”

As the artwork bluntly states, “It’s a movie about twin brothers who discover a toy monkey that likes killing their family. There is outrageous violence, shocking gore, and unspeakable tragedies.”

Produced by James Wan, the new trip from writer-director Osgood Perkins (Longlegs) opens in theaters on February 21 via Neon.

Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy star.

When twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tear their family apart. 25 years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy.

Can’t wait to see it? Bloody Disgusting is presenting a sneak preview screening in Chicago with Perkins in person this Saturday plus sneak screenings in eight major cities on Monday.

The Monkey short story was first released as a booklet included in Gallery magazine in 1980. It was later revised and published in King’s 1985 collection Skeleton Crew alongside The Mist, The Jaunt, The Raft, Survivor Type, The Reach, and more.
