What Lies Beneath will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray release from Scream Factory on May 6.
The 2000 horror-thriller has been newly restored from the original 35mm camera negative, approved by cinematographer Don Burgess, with Dolby Vision.
Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump) directed the film while production for Cast Away was on a hiatus so Tom Hanks could lose weight for his character.
Disc 1 – 4K UHD:
Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer star with Diana Scarwid, Miranda Otto, James Remar, and Katharine Towne.
When Claire Spencer (Pfeiffer) begins seeing ghostly images and hearing mysterious voices in their home, her husband Norman (Ford) suspects it’s just her imagination — until the images turn horrifyingly real. Now, together they must uncover the truth, confront their worst fears, and find ‘what lies beneath … with twisting and terrifying results.
Clark Gregg, best known for playing Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wrote the script.
