Genre favorite and frequent Guillermo del Toro collaborator Doug Jones (Hellboy, The Shape of Water) will enter a haunted forest in The Weeping, Deadline revealed.
The indie horror film revolves around a group of friends who go camping in a protected Native American forest and unwittingly wake up an ancient witch that haunts all who trespass.
Reggie Lee (“Grim”), pictured below in the first image from the production, also stars alongside Chase DeMoor, Isabelle Hahn (V/H/S/99), Jordan Kennedy, and Craig Ng (Big Trouble in Little China).
Spyder Dobrofsky — whose previously film, Down Below, also featured Jones — writes and directs for Worlds Apart.
The Weeping is one of several horror films Jones has in the pipeline, including Alex Kahuam’s The Remedy and Matthew Hersh’s If It Bleeds.
